The road to the summit is called Nibbevegen. You can turn to this road from Riksvei 63. The intersection is at the Djupvasshyttan near lake Djupvatnet. The elevation of the starting point of the road is at 1 059 meters. The road has 11 bends before it reaches the parking area at the top.
There's a road toll and you pay the fee at Djupvasshyttan before climbing to the mountain. The road is usually open from June to October. There are toilets and a small souvenir shop at the top.
The road is known as a symbol for tourism in Geiranger. It took three years to build the road and it was completed in 1939.
