'A day out in Cotswolds' is a scenic ride from Oxford to Stratford upon Avon. The ride is split into several caches to make it easier to log a find. It can easily take a day to ride from Oxford to Stratford depending on how many times you stop. The route from Oxford to Stratford is an ideal destination for a Sunday ride on a sunny day.
This first part covers the route from Yarnton near Oxford to Minster Lovell.
Leaving Oxford, take the A44 to Woodstock, one of England's prettiest country towns. On the outskirts of Woodstock are the famous gates of Blenheim Palace, the birthplace for Sir W. Churchill. Retrace your steps back for a short distance on the A44 in the direction of Oxford and take the A4095 to the mellow-stone town of Witney where blankets have been made for over a thousand years and which still preserves its Cotswold market town atmosphere.
After Witney, next village worth visiting is Minster Lovell where the ruins of the Minster Lovell Hall is located.
