Koli is located in northern Karelia in the city called Juuka. The highest hill in southern Finland has lots of stories to tell. Long time ago it was some kind of sacrificial site. The area is also well known slash-and-burn agriculture.
The national park was founded in 1991. The main goal is to reserve the wild nature but it is difficult because tourism is growing all the time.
Driving to the Koli-Hill is exciting. You need to leave the bike to the parking place and take a big (and very slow) elevator up to the hill. There is a hotel and restaurants on the top and the walking distance to vantage point and a grand view to the east is about 500 meters.
The vantage point has elevation ca. 347m.
You need to walk to Grand view and tell if this really is the "national Landscape"?
