As swimming holes go, this one is a beauty. There's a large pool to swim in, a waterfall and high rocks to jump off. Bring your swimsuit and towel for a refreshing swim.
The area is accessible all year round. Swimming is best in summer, July through September. Fishing and hiking is good all year long.
How to find it if you are riding from west to east on CA-120: After the vista called Rim of The World, ride about 1.5 miles. You should see a big bridge ahead of you. Just before the bridge you'll find a small road turning right. If you come to the turnoff to San Jose Camp and Cherry Lake, you missed it. Just turn around and then turn left after the bridge.
Even if the area should be accessible, www.sierranevadageotourism.org mentions that the gates might be closed but you can still walk to the pools (see link below).
Street address is on CA-120 but the cache location on the map points to the parking (about 0.2 miles from CA-120).
