The first races held in Isle of Man were Car races in the beginning of 20th century. The first motorcycle race were held in 1905.
Nowadays the race is very well known mainly because it's still extremely fast street race on a very narrow road! The road is flanked by walls, buildings, trees, curbs, pedestrian over-bridges and many posts. There has been 248 competitor fatalities between 1907 and 2015!
Remember, there's NO RACE when the streets are open and the police is operative in the island!
Remember, no racing!
