The A9 route is one of the most glorious is the UK, with open space and mountains either side of you for more than 100 miles. However, as this is the main route to the highlands it can get very busy, especially with lorries, during the daytime.
The route A9 Perth to Inverness is divided into three parts the first part taking you from Perth to Calvine. The firsty section from Perth is pleasant but not very rewarding whereas the section through Pitlochry and Glen Garry is much more interesting.
Enjoy your ride in either direction!
