This is another scenic route from Oxford to Stratford upon Avon. This second part covers the route from Minster Lovell to Bourton-on-the-Water. The route from Oxford to Stratford is an ideal destination for a Sunday ride on a sunny day. It can easily take a day to ride from Oxford to Stratford depending on how many times you stop.
The route takes you then to the lovely old-world Cotswold town of Burford. The broad High Street sweeps down the hillside, bordered by numerous antique and gift shops. Leave Burford following the road over the river Windrush and take the country road to Taynton and to Great and Little Barrington, a village of quaint cottages. Turn right along the A40 and first right to Windrush where you pick up signs for the ride down country lanes to Bourton-on-the Water which is a lovely village with riverside greens and low bridges spanning the rive Windrush.
You can ride the different parts of this route in any order and there is no need to ride all of them in one go. Enjoy your ride and please tell which place you enjoyed most.
