Siguldas viduslaiku pils (The old castle) is behind the new castle, so you will have to walk through the nice garden to enter the castle.
It is originally build in 1207 as a castellum type of fortress and later from 1432 it was the residence of the Land Marshal of the Livonian Order.
The fortress was still in use in 19th century but many parts of it was destroyed in the World wars.
There's been some reconstruction since 1978 and you can enter some parts of the wall and the tower on the edge of the walley.
There is 2€ entrance fee to enter the area.
You need to visit the old castle area to log this as found.
