This is one of the only craters made by meteor in Estonia. It is possibly the only known major impact event that has occurred in a populated area in earth. The location is about 19 km's northeast from Kuressaare and 2,8 km's north from the road nr 10 from Kuressaare to Kuivastu.
The crater is 22m deep and the diameter is about 110m. There's a small lake in the bottom of the crater but the water level goes very low during the summertime.
It's recommended to visit the museum about the crater in Kaali village.
Walk as close to the crater as possible.
