Duke Kanut, who was the son of Danish King Valdemar II owned the Kolga manor in 13th century. King Valdemar II was the ruler of Estonian Dukedom. This is the first time when Kolga manor is mentioned in history.
The current appearance is from the 1820s when the old building was totally reconstructed as we see it today. Many buildings in the area are ruins now but the still give you they majestic impression. The lands of Kolga manor used to be the largest in Estonia.
Some of the roads around Kolga manor area are gravel.
