Campo Carlomagno pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1,682 m above the sea level.The 48 km long road across the Campo Carlo Magno connects Dimaro with Tione. It is very well developed at a maximum of 11% slope and runs in the Trentino between the Brenta Dolomites in the east and the Adamello group in the west. The Pass has a tourist significance due to its proximity to Madonna di Campiglio. You have the most wonderful view of the Brenta from just below the top of the pass in the village of Madonna di Campiglio. The pass is named after Charlemagne, who has crossed the pass on his way to Rome for his coronation as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire in the year 800.
