This is the first part of the Isle of Wight Loop. The suggested route assumes that you are taking a ferry from Southamphton but you can also take a ferry e.g. from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and start the trip from there. You can start the loop at any point of the route and ride them also in opposite direction.
They say that "No island comes this close...", not just because the Isle of Wight is impossible to beat for its
natural beauty and the attractions it offers, but because it's much closer to home than you might have
If you're riding to the Isle of Wight by motorbike, then you need travel no further than the ports at
Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington in the New Forest and you are then just a short sea crossing from
the Isle of Wight.
There are several places worth visiting in Isle of Wight (just few mentioned here):
- Alum Bay, which is famous for different colours of sand
- gorges in Shanklin and Blackgang
- The Needles (shown in the cache photo), very famous headland and offshore rocks at the western end of the island
Please tell in the log which place you liked most. Enjoy your ride!
